The Slingback


The 50’s turned up the heat on the previous clunky slingback of the 40’s.

These new and improved versions were far more daring, exposing the toes fully, and some even had the addition of little straps for that sexy evening look.

Daywear styles had a more chunky heel, with thicker straps and a less fancy design for security.

Slingback straps were found on various pumps, wedges and slip on casual shoes at the time.

they assured women that their feet would not slip out of the shoes resulting in an embarrassing trip or even a fall!
